Xenon replacement parts are becoming more and more popular on today’s market. The reason is that a lot of car and truck manufacturers are installing HID upgrades on their vehicles from the factory as an OEM upgrade. Just like any other car part on any vehicle with time the part needs to be replaced for one reason or another.
      Going back to the manufacturer for xenon replacement part is usually not the best idea. Considering car manufacturers charge a pretty penny for these parts. But that’s why a lot of lighting companies took it upon them selves to provide these parts to the consumer at a great cost.
      Xenon replacement parts are easily found online, and they are also less expensive online. The items are of same or sometimes better quality than OEM parts. Parts such as the xenon bulb and the xenon ballast are sold in pair or separately. If one of the xenon bulbs that come from the factory burn out, you can go online and purchase the item without a problem, and have it shipped within 3-5 days. You would not have to hassle with going to the dealer, and paying their outrageous pricing.
      Xenon replacement parts consist of xenon bulbs and xenon ballasts. Factory xenon bulbs come in the following sizes:

    1. D2R 6000K: D2R 6000K 35w is designed with cars, and trucks with reflector type housing, these bulbs are for factory equipped HID kits only. These bulbs are designed for the following cars. Volvo, Saab, Nissan, Mini cooper, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercedes, Acura, Audi, and some other OEM HID equipped vehicles.
    2. D2S 6000K: D2S 6000K 35w is designed to be installed and used on HID Factory equipped vehicles. They are designed to be used in headlight assemblies that have a projector in the housing. The D2S fits the following vehicles: Volvo, VW, Mercedes, Saab, Nissan, Mini, Infiniti, Jaguar, Chrysler, Audi, Acura, BMW, Mazda, Lexus, and Land Rover.
    3. D2R 8000K: D2R 8000K are the same as the D2R 6000K, they are used in reflector type housing, for HID OEM equipped vehicles. The only difference is the temperature of the bulb is higher, which emits a more bluish color. These bulbs are also used in the same vehicles as the D2R 6000K
    4. D2S 8000K: are the same as the D2S 6000k, the only difference is the higher bulb temperature on the 8000K models. This would emit a more bluish color. They also fit the same vehicles as the D2S 6000K bulb.
    5. D1R 6000K: The D1R 6000K is designed to be installed in a reflector type headlights housing as well. The only difference is that the D1R is a new technology that has the igniter (ballast) of the bulb installed at the base of the bulb as well. These bulbs are only installed on vehicles that come with the D1R from the factory. Vehicles such as Mercury, Cadillac and Lincoln use these bulbs. The D1R Also comes in an 8000K bulb temperature.
